Everyone knows that there are certain places in America, such as Silicon Valley, where technology companies tend to flourish. However, are there specific places in the UK where such companies have good chances of success?

Obviously London is the place which enters the mind when considering British locations that might be home to cutting-edge, ahead-of-the-game tech and digital businesses. After all, London has the resources, the people, and is regarded around the world as a place that matters. However, are there other areas of the UK which hold as many opportunities for start-ups and modern technology businesses?

Leeds is said to be the biggest location with regards to the internet outside London. In the north east there are numerous thriving communities brimming with creative technology people. Then, there’s Scotland. Edinburgh is home to many digital businesses.

So, even though there are many areas in the UK which accommodate technology companies, given the choice, would many of those business owners prefer to be in London?

The UK is a great place for entrepreneurialism; remarkably this is still clear even though we are in the grip of a recession. Each year sees new start-ups, new businesses, new ideas, and fresh thinking on changing the game. But still, it would seem, much of the UK is a long way behind London when it comes to creating a flawless ecosystem for creativity, especially with regards to technology.

However, one thing can be said in light of this statement. If your business has the potential to prosper regardless of where it is located, being situated outside London will bring many benefits since the costs are so much lower. Those savings can increase your chances of rapid growth.
